At 3&3/4" by 1&3/8" this is still a pretty decent sized Tennessee Turkey Tail--even with all the Late Archaic period usage--look at the width of the base, that's your first indicator that the blade was even longer 'as first made'. After an impact fracture the tip was converted to a scraping feature, not a sharp point--with this much width they could have easily narrowed (and fashioned a sharp point) if they had intended to. The flat tip worked to their advantage. There was some provenance (besides ex L.Irons collection) on the reverse, but that info is long lost. Patina is clear, 100% guaranteed authentic.
