A short back-story--fifty plus years back I started finding this type flint (out of Spencer County, Indiana--Holland Flint/ Chalcedony) on my family's back acreage. Not knowing what it was--or where it was from, I took some of my finds to an older collector who sold arrowheads out of his garage: "That's Florissant Valley flint out of Missouri". The man is LONG since dead, so as my wife says "Don't make fun of the dead"...well, be that as it may, he was either poorly informed or B.S.ing me. Holland Flint is a fine grade material from creeks near the small town of Holland, Indiana, where it takes its name. That old man's misinformation set me on a lifetime search to learn area flint sources--that search is as fascinating as finding the artifacts themselves, I think. This 3&11/16" curved-tip knife is actually a very long piece of Holland as fracture planes in the raw flint made it difficult to knapp long artifacts--I've seen longer pieces, but not often. This curved tip knife was found not too many miles from where the flint outcrops, Early Archaic Culture in origin, VERY well made, 100% guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $8.00, checks or M.O>s are the only two ways you can buy the piece as I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
