A heat-treated flint, that's about the best I can offer in terms of identifying the flint, I'm not sure what this Buck Creek point is made from--maybe a Burlington, but that's about as close of a guess as I could make--Hopewell peoples traded for flint from all over, and the point is out of a county (Posey Co.,Indiana) that was ground zero for the Hopewell. Length is 2&1/4" by 1&5/16"--the center being 3/8" thick makes me thing the blade was once considerably longer. The stem edges show some deliberate dulling/ light grinding. There is some yellowed glue on one side of the tip, so the point was once displayed in a frame (or on a board)--I've had the point in my collection for some twenty-five years, so you can understand why the glue is old and yellowed. Neat piece, REAL in every detail. Shipping is $7.00, checks, cash, or M.O.s can pay for it, but I do not use paypal-type payments--Roy A.
