There's something to be said for seeing a point exactly as it was found--old soil in the crevices, nothing out of place. Was this Dixon (Sangamon County, Illinois, Burlington Chert) a creek find or a field find--I can't answer, but to back to patina--this one is 110% real. Length is a fraction under 2&1/2" on my caliper, width is slightly over 1&1/8"--thickest spot is dead-on 1/4"--this was a Woodland era knapper who was at the top of his game. The only thing to term 'damage' is a use-made chip where there would have been a sharp pointed tip. The stem edges may have some minor bit of ancient edge grinding, but it's a 'dulled stem' at best, not 'ground'. Nice point. Shipping is $7.00, USPS minimum charge these days, and checks, cash, or M.O.s can be sent. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type payments--Roy A.
