Shipping included on a "How'd I miss that the first time?"--seriously, though, I DID overlook the piece when sorting through the 'detritus' (odds and ends) of a small Pike County, Indiana, collection. As there wasn't any drilling done, the piece looked like one of the couple hundred camp rocks the family had packed home. How do you know it's a Ball Banner? Easy, the 'bottom' was deliberately flattened, and that's where the Mid Archaic Atl Atl maker was planning on drilling the piece. Note that the stone is sort of 'non-descript' until it's been under a faucet--water---or eventual polishing--would have made the bandings on the slate ball really stand out; pictures show both wet and dry so you can see the difference. That's why the toolmaker, some 6500BP, picked the stone. Now, truth be told, I cringe when I buy a frame--or even a single piece that's been made glossy, any of a dozen products (Clear coat is a BEAR to get off) are used, but frankly, I think I'd make an exception for this 1&5/8" diameter Ball Banner (preform)--neat piece. Shipping comes with the price, checks, cash, or money orders are welcomed. Sorry, but I do not use electronic payments (like paypal)--Roy A.
