A S.W> Indiana find, Spencer or Perry County, a Woodland Buck Creek made of out Harrison County hornstone1&7/8" by 1&1/4"--the stem isn't broken, the couple thousand year BP knapper worked all the way along a large flint flake , more interested in getting max blade length that having enough flint at the base for a 'finished-out' stem basal edge. He reached the edge of the flake, trimmed and thinned the cropped-off stem, quit for the day---made some decent barbs, as you can see. That shorter barb he ground smooth at the sort of blunted end, you can feel the grinding used to smooth it. Very likely the family was hunting along the Ohio River as Buck Creeks--from personal experience hunting those river banks, were river's edge villages. Unless they were hunting deer, Woodland hunters stayed pretty close to the rivers. The piece is guaranteed real, period. Shipping is $8.00 (USPS minimum for a small box), and there are only THREE ways I take payments: cash, checks, or money orders. Sorry, paypal users, the extra paperwork isn't worth the hassle come tax time--Roy A.
