Was it twenty years back (or so), I bought some parts of the Muhlenburg County, Kentucky, collection of Chris Borden (now deceased, I'm told)--this Chisel group got put away in storage. I was asked a few weeks back if I had some chisels to sell, so I'll put the group on my store. Someone will really have to want them, there simply are not but a few chisel caches to be found. The group are all made of Dover Flint (like the Duck River Cache Blades)--likely the same peoples made both type artifacts--Mississippians, 1250--1400 BP. Here, the longest is barely under 6&1/8"--the bit is incredible, the high gloss. The one pictured with the caliper is marked #8--since there were eight to start with Chris must have kept half the Cache (he needed a pick up truck, sold only what he could part with)--old story there. Best--Roy A.
