A Snap Base Dovetail, 2&3/16", and a snapped tip MacCorkle with very large barbs, 2&1/16". One look at the width of that base, you know the stage one size was really large for a MacCorkle--there is some smoothness on the snapped tip that could indicate the piece was used as a hafted scraper. When I see work polish on a broken tip the natural assumption is that there was a 'secondary use', the Early Archaic Period hunter wasn't ready to toss a usable tool---same with the snap base Dove, they likely rehafted the blade as a slightly smaller knife. Getting new flint to work was very timeconsuming, dangerous, and just plain work, carrying it home to near the Wabash River from near what's now Louisville, Ky, area (Leavenworth, Indiana, where the flint creeks were loaded with flint). Neat pieces whether to restore or display as-is. Shipping is $6.00, checks, cash, or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
