This Columbia Plateau point made from Translucent Agate was found by Frank Wilke in the mid 50's on a site now flooded by the Hydro Dams on the Columbia. Frank was a one term President of the Oregon Archaeological Society in the 50's & was very active in preserving the artifacts present on a number of village sites before they were covered by water backed up behind the dams on the Columbia. It displays impressively & receives our grade of G7. Our grade on this point reflects the fact that it was made on a flake & has a very limited amount of work on the back side. It also has a bit of a curve to the flake. That said it still looks impressive in a frame of points.
