Made from translucent Orange Agate this rose Springs Corner Notched gets a grade of G7 due to form, a tip ding & a flat on the back. Flat spots on artifacts are not uncommon as the area left flat didn't need working. Points with flat sides were made on a flake of lithic material. This point was found by Frank Wilke On a site near Bingen Washington in the 1950's. Frank was a one term president of The Oregon Archaeological Society, had a private museum in Bingen & acquired a backhoe which he operated during the excabvation of Wakemap Mound, located on the Washington side of the Columbia.
