Jersey County, Illinois, where the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers meet- and the Missouri River coming in from the west--one great area for artifacts as the chances for trade in flint was excellent--drive the Illinois Great River Road, see the limestone bluffs, you'll understand; the area was populated by every culture from Paleo onward. This Early Archaic Bifurcate (use the classification you're most comfortable with, there are too many) is a cobble chert, two very different grades (and colors) of flint in one almost 2" dart point. The flint color that resembles Carter Cave Flint is edge-translucent--high silicate material. One basal corner had an ancient flake-off, looks like the ancient user might have done minimal salvage work to re-haft the piece (you can see two very tiny flakes taken off inside the larger flake--that's salvage work, not damage). Guaranteed authentic, period. Shipping comes with the listed price, checks, cash, or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
