Probably twenty years in my personal collection, this strongly beveled Dovetail is made of the type Hornstone found in Harrison County, Indiana-- (2&5/8" by 1&7/16", with 3/8" max thickness)--the piece itself is out of either Warrick or Gibson County, Indiana. You will find mineral spots, age pitting, soil under fractures (flake scars)--it's 100% real in every possible detail. Basal grinding is excellent. The outer corner of the base shows an ancient repair--for whatever reason the Early Archaic hunter rounded that basal corner--and worked hard to re-fashion the barb above it; study the work, it took considerable skill. A nick shows ancient damage to the opposite barb. That end-chip didn't affect the hafted knife's use, so it was never repaired. The tip is intact, and shows how they joined the bevels from either blade edge-skilled knapping, you see work that well thought out, it's worth mentioning. Nice point, period. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal on my store--Roy A.
