Out of Webster County, Kentucky, point that was salvaged into a knife form. Based on both chipping pattern and blade edge sharpening I'm under the impression it's Kirk Culture (there is no bevel sharpening, and the knapping is pressure chipping, not percussion work). There ia a spot of 'salvage on the one basal corner--it's NOT new, and it extends up the lateral edge. Compared to the rest of the blade edges this area is fairly sharp--possibly the work was done by a later culture, , a different 'edging technique', but 10x magnification shows it isn't new work--I made sure of that before listing the piece. The finder wrote the provenance in extremely small letters just above the base. Good hornstone, patinated hornstone3&15/16" by 1&3/4", and 7/16" max thickness. A friend of mine bought the collection, and I've owned it more than a dozen years--it's real, period. Shipping comes with the price, no extra costs. I welcome checks or M.O.s, but do not--repeat that- do not- take paypal--Roy A.
