Price includes the shipping on this Snyders--the piece came from a Maucopin County, Illinois, collection. The workmanship is the percussion chipping of the Hopewell Snyders Culture, but identifying that flint, Payson Flint is as close as I've come to an identification--was it naturally this deep a red, or was the flint heat altered before knapping--I think you'd have to be more familiar with the raw flint and whatever heat treated examples you could find. The patina of the piece is there, deeply embedded soils (minerals) in the notches--the notches also show they've been ground (basal edge has very little dulling, as that wasn't Hopewell Snyders practice).Length is 2&3/16", width is nearly 1&3/8", and thickness is only 5/16" max.--really stands out in a frame. I welcome checks, cash, or M.O>s, but please note I do not use paypal--Roy A.
