I wanted to share this so that new collectors know to always pay close attention to detail. The difference in value in this fine artifact is $3,500 to $5,000 in G10 condition and 750 to 1,000 with ear restored.
I happened to find the Restoration as I was considering buying this piece and showed it to the owner who had admired it in his own private collection for 20+ years and had no clue one ear had been Restored.
Just remember, restoration greatly reduces the value of an artifact. Inspect closely before making your purchase.
