An ex Bill Pesch Collection drill, Mattoon, Illinois, area--Fayette County, and Bill's number stenciled on either side for his collection catalog. Bill was BIG into Thebes points (as am I), yet for whatever reason it took looking at the drill with a 'fresh eye' before realizing "Well duh, that's a Thebes"--the basal lobes, the VERY heavy basal grinding--classic Thebes traits. Made of Burlington Chert, 1&9/16" by 1&3/16", the tip could work as a drill or a burin (may have been a thicker tip at on time, then an angled fracture made it more of a perforator).
