I pay the shipping, $225 is the full cost on this Daviess (or area) County, Kentucky creek find I've long classified as a Hi-Lo. The flint, under all that patina, is a McLean Co., KY form of St. Louis Green Chert--area creeks around Calhoun, Ky, produce the raw chert--2&3/16" by 1&3/16", max thickness of 5/16"--but with a VERY thin hafting area--fluted with multiple Paleo thinning flakes (photos should show the repeated basal thinning work). The lower lateral edges are well ground, basal edge is somewhat ground. One blade edge shows far more work, more sharpenings than the opposite edge--did that indicate this was a Late Paleo Hafted Knife, more so than a projectile--I think that's the opinion you'd get from an authenticator like Jerry Dickey (with patina this strong I've never considered sending the piece for authentication)--too, I guarantee it's real, simple as that.
