Out of a S.W. Indiana Gibson county collection--granite, 3&3/8" by 2&1/16"--only 1&3/8" max thickness. One face shows a dimple that'd indicate either the axe served as a nutting stone before being made into an axe--or (somehow) nuts were being cracked on the axhead itself...maybe both, duo purpose. The bit was pretty well formed and polished prior to years of ancient service--now somewhat dulled and a couple of the plow grazes cross the bit--now part of the history of the "found near the Wabash River" piece. You can see some plow scratches to testify the piece was a farm field find--a couple of the more recent scratches show how soils patinated the ax--guaranteed real in every detail. The weight of the granite makes shipping $12.00, and checks or M.O>s are the two ways you can purchase the piece as I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
