Balance, high end knapping, and excellent color to this Avon Chert Motley Point out of Edwards County, Illinois, area--1&5/8" by 15/16", slightly over 1/4" max thickness, just an absolutely fine Motley from the old Norman Reid Bone Gap, Illinois, collection/ museum. For a change Norman didn't sign this point--unusual as he liked his name on every find he made. Patina of the Avon Chert is excellent, just a great example.
