Shipping comes with the price on this hornstone creek find from the Daviess County, Kentucky, area (could be Ohio County, depending on the particular creek they were hunting that day)--a piece I've had in my collection for over fifteen years. An ancient break on a basal tang of the Nuckolls Variety Dalton aside, the flaking is absolutely great, the serrations formed by the oblique/ diagonal flaking technique. Length is 2&9/16" by 1&5/16", 5/16" is the max thickness--symmetrical. Both faces show basal thinning that's equivalent to fluting (just not as deep), and what remains of the basal edge shows grinding. The finder is an old friend--read that as my having more than 100% confidence the point is real--John knows flint, first introduced me to creek finds some twenty+ years back. Note that on the dished-in basal tang there is strong polishing of the damage--that allowed continued use of a fine VERY Early Archaic point--the DAlton hunter also salvaged a tip-edge nick, formed it as a slight bevel (see photo). I welcome payments by check, cash, or M.O., but do not use paypal-type electronic payments--Roy A.
