The colors of the flint are Horse Creek--the Dovetail stood out in the 'box of rocks' where the piece was stored for the last fifty years, but where an Indiana family got the piece no one alive knows--found it on a vacation to southern Tennessee (Kentucky Lake), that's as close as I could come to a "Where's it from?" guess. One thing (besides toe multiple colors and bandings is the patina--it's there, every detail is real. Length is slightly over 3&5/8" by 1&3/16". A close up of the tip shows a HARD impact fracture over-laid with considerable use polish as a buffing tool. The base was heavily ground, and a basal corner and barb show Early Archaic use and dings to the flint. The blade shows the bevel sharpening of multiple sharpenings. If the photos show a slight shine on the center, it's either old glue or some remainder of an ancient I.D. tag--the end of the intact barb has a 'droplet' of glue, and my loop picks up another glue smear slightly below the tip--acetone should remove those tiny spots, but if I sell something you get to hear every good feature, every possible flaw--you know exactly what you're buying, and you know it's guaranteed authentic. I pay the shipping, and payment is either by check or money order as I do not use paypal (or its clones)--Roy A.
