The patina of this east-central Indiana Early archaic point just screams "Creek find"--field-found point simply don't have that heavy mineral build-up (usually, as there are always exceptions)--length or the point is 1&15/16" by slightly over 1&1/4"--the max thickness is a bit over 1/4". The basal corner points show ancient wear, closeups should show the tiny chips made during 7500BP usage. As far as classification, I've labeled the point a Pinetree, but with the basal edge having fairly strong grinding you might have a valid argument for calling the piece a Palmer--or even a Charleston Point--although the blade is very symmetrical, and Charleston points aren't; even Noel Justice calls the "lopsided". SO, that basal grinding brings the classification back to "Pinetree" --neat point guaranteed real.
