Good Benton point (knife), good patina on this western Kentucky Mid Archaic (6500BP) knife--3&5/16" by 1&3/8", but doesn't go over 5/16" in thickness--the blade somewhat thinner than that. Benton Culture, they liked their knives of good length and knapping--study the pressure chipped edges, while they're not the transverse-parallel sometimes used, they're excellent pressure chipping. As is almost 100% with Bentons, there is no basal edge grinding. It looks like a tiny corner of a basal corner snapped in use, it's not iron particle mineralized with age. The point is out of southwest Kentucky, but no additional county info (or flint type I can provide) was available--regardless, every possible detail is guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $8.00, checks or money orders are the payment forms I use. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
