Some collectors stick with "Benton Points", some use a more specific name of "Benton-Bottle Neck" based on their manner of viewing the stem. This big Bottle Beck ended up in a local (to me) estate, but there was no history attached to how the piece came to S.W. Indiana (from Ohio). Much of the small collection was like that, flints I know aren't in the Ohio flint distribution area--someone moved here--or inherited a parents' collection. This big Benton type is Flint Ridge Flint, 3&9/16" by 1&9/16"--a center thickness of 7/16". The stem was worked to what was once the base of a large flint flake--the point is NOT a snap base, it's simply the Mid Archaic knappers' attempt to gt as much length as that flint flake would allow--he actually smoothed the angled base with some light grinding. Great material to fashion the big knife, and excellent patination, guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $8.00, checks or M.O.s are how I take payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type payments--Roy A.
