A long Benton point from the New Albany, Indiana, area--Jefferson or area county. Length is 3&11/16" by 1&7/16", 3/8" medial ridge thickness--proportional. As is very typical the base of the stem is not ground, but the sides, they're most definitely ground. Hope I'm not 'going out on a limb', but I identify the chert as "Jeffersonville Chert"--nice patina. The piece came from an estate in that area, three ammo boxes filled with everything from hammerstones, broken bannerstone pieces, some nice points and (mostly) every scrap of flint the guy ever found. He saved everything. Neat Benton, real. Shipping is $8.00 with checks or M.O.s how I take payment. Sorry, that means you cannot pay by paypal--Roy A.
