Out of S.W. Indiana's Warrick County, this Hornstone Early Archaic type gets occasionally called a Lost Lake, and sometimes an Archaic Bevel--Plevna Dovetails share the same flat faces and very steep beveled blade edges. The "Archaic Bevel" isn't a recognized "point type", but when you see one you know it's not a 'true' Lost Lake--perhaps more towards the end of the Early Archaic timeframe. One thing you can note is that the basal edge doesn't have the heavy grinding of a Lost Lake. Perhaps one day the point will get its own Overstreet 'header'. This Hornstone point measures a fraction under 3" by 1&1/4" with a 5/16" max thickness. The center bullseye of the flint nodule shows on the upper blade, a small "Vug" of crystal shows what was the nodule's center. Good--make that great patina, guaranteed authentic in every detail. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
