A very nice Knobbed Hardin with an Early Archaic salvaged tip--tiny pressure flakes rounding the once longer tip--no idea what they hit with the tip of the knife, but appx. 1&1/2" of blade was broken away. They repaired the tip, kept the knife in service long after that accident--patina is there, it shows how ancient the use-reuse dates. Length of the hornstone point--Owensboro, Ky, area, as best I could geolocate it, is 2&3/8" by 1&1/2", 3/8" max thickness. The stem edges, sides and base, are well ground--Hardins almost always were, that was part of their finish-out of a knife. The last owner didn't include information that this was a creek find, but the staining of the stem sure has a "creek patina" look to it, it matches the patination on ones creek hunters have brought me. Nice piece, period. Shipping is $5.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
