Length is 1&5/8", very likely a Paleo lance tip that started much longer, went through multiple blade 'adjustments' (sharpening, tip repair, etc...) to end at this length--considering the width is a wide 1&1/16". Maybe some Paleo expert could predict the "as made" length with some greater accuracy than my 'best guess' of 3&1/8". People who study the evolution of a point from 'first made/ stage one'--to exhausted, they might even give the piece a longer estimate. What's clear is the patina, and why J. Davis gave the point a COA (issued to the finder)--he thought the material was Indiana Laurel Chert (whereas I thought it was an off-grade form of Hornstone. One note: each face shows multiple interline basal thinning flakes instead of a single flute to one (or both) faces--then basal and lateral edge grinding. The piece comes from along the Ohio River in the New Albany, Indiana, area. Shipping is $11.00, the COA will ship separately so it doesn't get folded. I welcome checks, or money orders, but do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
