Out of either Muhlenberg or Christian County, Kentucky, the last twenty years in my personal collection. The flint is a variety of Hornstone, cortex on one end, dark gray bandings in a light grey, heavily patinated surface. Whichever hand you hold the knife, it FITS--small (heavily ground) fingertip 'hold down' are strategically placed to allow either the left...or that other hand to use the knife (by reversing which end you use as the 'point'). The Paleo Culture maker planned so this hand-held knife would work for anyone in his family. If the photos don't pickup on it, the surface of the flint is highly polished from use--that gloss is the built-in years the knife was in service, oils from user and, well, dinner.
