Twelve points from the Rush County, east-central Indiana--used, sharpened, used until the ancient owner got the message-they don't owe me anything--he made (or traded for) new points with the village skilled artisan. One point, grey hornstone, shows why you DON'T let Indiana Hornstone get too hot (near a campfire)--much of one side exploded...hornstone does NOT like getting too hot. The longest of the 12 is a red (heat treated) fossil chert, 2&3/8"--fossil chert (Harrodsburg Chert) actually became more 'workable' once it was heated--the reds, the iron oxides, only become brighter once it IS heat treated. Any questions, please ask. Shipping is $1 per point--$12.00--shipping through USPS is no longer a bargain. I welcome checks, cash, or money orders, but I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
