Big Pickwick type point, really, really patinated,2&7/8" by 1&9/16"--7/16" max thickness. The finders' notation on the reverse face should indicate the Indiana County where the big point was found. The stem was made out to the edge of the starting flint flake, so the flat bottom isn't a 'true' snap base, what you see was the edge of the 'preform'--the maker made slight dulling on the edges of the stem--I wouldn't go so far as to call it grinding, just 'dulling'. There was ancient use damage to the tip, then the tip was made a perforator--some sort of 'burin' or leather punch--it served several purposes, most likely. Chert: it's a local chert to that area of N.C. Indiana--undoubtedly there is a specific chert type name--kind of reminds me of Bayport Chert, but you have to know the distribution area of any chert to determine if you're correct (per Tony De Regnaucourt).
