If that base doesn't give you a "What the heck???" response I'll be surprised. An uncountable number of sharpenings gave the point an 'a-symmetry'; one barb simply lost to repeated sharpening of the "more used edge"--but that only adds to the distinctive nature of the piece. The point is made of Indiana Hornstone, but was in a Jefferson County, Illinois, collection--for the reason of the flint being Indiana, I'll classify the point as a MacCorkle, not the bifurcate (Illinois) classification Cossatot River--some widely-traveling family unit some 7500BP that made their way west, camped and lost the piece. Note the basal lobe edges are extra well ground--polished, not just ground. Along that much worked over tip you see signs of long (hard) use. The piece has 'character'...in addition to authenticity. Shipping is $8.00, checks or M.O.s are how I welcome-in payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
