This beautiful, semi-translucent artifact is made of Knife River Flint and was found in Morton Co., North Dakota near the town of Mandan. An excellent piece made of highly desirable material.
Knife River Flint is one of the most desirable flint types for artifact collectors. Much in the way wood is petrified by being replaced with silica, coal seams in the Dakotas were petrified and replaced with quartzose materials forming Knife River Flint.
