This is a beauty. It is a 5 9/16" long and 1 7/8" black slate. It is guaranteed authentic and comes with a certificate of authenticity from Jim Bennet. Jim calls the material black stone. I am pretty sure it is black slate that was quarried in northern Ohio. I have a cast iron fireplace from the 1800's in my home and it has a black slate mantle top that is the same material. I look up the specs on the mantle when we were rehabbing the room it is in. It has as sharp of a bit as you can get, and the back of the pole is flat (you can see that in the pictures). It is heavy and dense. 30-day inspection period. No reason needed for return. $10 Shipping. I accept Pay Pal, money orders and personal checks.
