I pay the shipping nothing additional on this Wayne County, Kentucky, Hopewell. Interesting base, has both Hopewell and Snyders elements--add in a 'look' of the Ohio Double Notched--you get the idea. The southern Kentucky piece may be more closely related to the "double notched' forms based on that "V" base and the sharper 'tabs' on the basal corners. The blade1.75x 1.125" actually shows some remarkably good knapping, more pressure chipping than percussion flaking--basal edge has a bare amount of edge dulling--not really ground, just dulled: tip shows a small burin point--a needle tip, slightly extruded from the body of the blade. Sharp! The piece comes from the Monticello, Kentucky, area, seems to be made of the local St. Genevieve Chert--kind of a cousin-flint to Hornstone. Good patina, real in every detail. I welcome checks or M.O.s, but PLEASE note I do not use paypal--Roy A.
