An Adena, Warrick County, Indiana, that was NEVER going to be a projectile--a hafted knife, yes, but with the way the Indiana Hornstone preform curved as it was being struck from the hornstone nodule, it wasn't symmetrical, wouldn't work 'in flight'. It was strictly a knife--3&3/16" by 1&3/16", max thickness is at the shoulders: 5/16". The Adena stem shows a small bit of limestone cortex where it 'squares-off'--edge is dulled for hafting the tool, not splitting the wood/ bone handle. This is a piece that's been in my collection for about ten years, it has some label glue on the smooth face--you know what it is. Sort of an 'aside', I once had a point 'killed' by an authenticator who couldn't recognize a rectangle of glue as being from a label--he called it 'fake patination', lol. I kept his "kill report" for that reason. This Adena is lifetime guaranteed authentic, period Shipping is free, checks, cash, or M.O>s are the only way I take payment--I do not use paypal--Roy A.
