Lexington, Kentucky, area MacCorkle. The tip shows campfire damage, Early Archaic hunter/ chef left his cutting knife too near his campfire. Ancient repair, salvage flaking, returned the knife to usable status, but it shows a diagnostic, a characteristic pattern that only comes from Hornstone becoming too hot. This is one of the flints that does NOT allow for heat treating by ancient means. Hornstone gets too hot, it explodes to leave a "cornmeal" appearance. The big ( 2&3/4" by 1&3/4" by 3/8" thick) hafted knife is lifetime guaranteed authentic, a good example of the point type, the flint, and fire damage. Shipping is $6.00. I welcome checks or M.O.s, but please note I do not use paypal--Roy A.
