This rare Cannel Coal Pendant has been broken and glued. It was found in Spencer County, Indiana, and was formerly in the collection of Floyd Ritter. Cannel Coal artifacts are extremely scarce and rarely come up for purchase.
Note: The name "Cannel Coal" was originally "Candle Coal," and it referred to a highly bituminous coal that would burn like a candle when lit. Over time, usage changed the terminology from "candle coal" to "cannel coal."
