Clear Fork Tool
Some times referred to as a gouge.
This artifact was a personal find by me in Wilson County, Texas.
Clear Fork Tools have been around since the Early Archaic Time Period, thru the Historic Period. it is assumed they were used for wood and bone working tasks.
The working end was is the wide side with a sharp beveled surface. The back side was torpedo shape to be hand held or hafted.
