Up for your consideration is this Natural Authentic Columbia Plateau projectile point. (Arrowhead) This one point in a 300, believe me, I worked the Columbia and Snake River from 1948 to 1971, when I became a professional. Found on the banks of the Columbia River, near the present day Dalles Dam, near the Oregon town of the The Dalles, Oregon. Found on the Washington State, side of the Columbia River, from Dalles to Kennewick, WA. The material is Chalcedony-Agate, a form very common in that area, from the Miocene, Volcanic, Geological era of the past 25 to 20 millions years. Grading on this point is s grade 9.5. A little mis-shaped but gorgeous Carnelian agate. No flat spots on either side and no curves. Note, this point is very difficult to photo.
The Age and type of point by using professional standards is from the Professional classifications of about 200 before present, (BP). Age is about 200 years to 800 BP. Classification, is Columbia Plateau Phase III. We do not use Overstreet's Publication," but we use well-defined professional publications from accredited Universities and museums. We don't intend to say negatives about Overstreet, Publications, only that they need to use more professional information from Universities and establish modern Museum within the Pacific Northwest, not persons with personal interest in seeing their artifacts used in the publication for photo profit and claiming knowledge about the Columbia River when in fact most have never saw the Columbia or Snake River.
