Up for sale is large preform / blank that is made from Kanawha Black Flint. This artifact was in the beginning stages of knapping and would have been worked into a finished point or knife. It was recovered from Kanawha County, West Virginia. It measures 3" long x 2" wide. It is about 1 1/4" thick. It would make a great piece to show the stages of reduction in ancient tool making. There are noticeable deposits of mineralization and patina throughout , so rest assured of their authenticity.
