This extremely fine Cumberland base was restored by Dennis Bushey to show what the unbroken artifact would look like. Before the base was sent for restoration, Dwain Rogers papered it. Looking at his paper, you can seen the extremely fine details of the work on this artifact including the sharp ears with the reddish tinge found in old artifacts of this material.
The backstory on this point is that a family member found it in his garden and brought it to a family reunion and gave it to my dad because he knew he collected artifacts. (No, he refused to let him dig his garden in hopes of finding the other half!) The price reflects his value on this piece and is probably beyond the value anyone else would assign it.
