SALVAGED BIRDSTONE - BENNETT C.O.A.
Jim Bennett Certificate of Authenticity calls this a Spineback artifact (exact use unknown). When speaking with him he did agree it was the archaic age period. He couldn't confirm the type of artifact. It happened that month in his auction he had a Nesting Birdstone. This was made exactly like the one he was auctioning, minus the head. My position is this either a nesting Birdstone that was salvaged or a bust Birdstone that was salvaged. It measures 1 11/16" by 1 1/4'. you can see on the COA picture on the front of the base the last remnant of a hole. It is made of quartz. It is a very interesting piece of history. Ex.
