70718--Illinois Celt, very well made & polished
The Priority Mail shipping is included with the cost on this highly polished southern Illinois Celt--length is 4&3/16" by 2&7/16", thickness maxxes out at 1&5/16". The piece comes from a Union County, Illinois, collection, some catalog numbers in ink near the heel: LS18. The overall heavy polish of the piece is very, very heavy, that polish makes the piece--strong patina doesn't hurt, either, it's REAL. The Woodland maker/ user repaired one bit-edge ding--from the heavy polish in that one spot it looks like that was the "strike point" where every time the axhead was used it contacted that spot first--the work polish shows it. I welcome checks, cash, or M.O.s, however I don't use paypal--Roy A.
