Out of the Jackson--Union County, Illinois, area, or at least that's where the deceased collector lived and grew up--he was also known to but some Kentucky creek finds, so without a definite distribution area for this particular flint, whether he bought or found the piece is unknown--it ended up in a Carbondale, Illinois, area home, though--it's lifetime guaranteed real in every detail. The flint is a mix of higher grade flint inclusions in a cherty matrix, fossils, too. The Kirk C.N. measures 2&9/16" by1&1/16", but THIN, only fractionally over 1/4". There isn't more than the absolute barest of basal grinding--safest to say there is none, the base is so sharp. Kirks are so hit-or-miss when it comes to grinding, though. The workmanship is far better than the pictures will show, though, with nothing to remotely call 'damage'. Shipping is $6.00, payment to be by check or M.O.--paypal is not taken--Roy A.
