Great frame of Obsidian Blades, from the Great Basin of the West. The artifacts are somewhat different, many are constructed of Natural Glass, Obsidian. This is very different from the Columbia River and Columbia Plateau materials, of Chalcedony- Agates, Petrified wood, and local Jaspers and Cherts.
The indigenous people of the Great Basin, were true, "Hunter Gatherers" They ate different foods, lived in different environment, spoke a very different language. Even the religious systems were totally different than the semi-sedentary peoples of the Columbia River, and Lower Columbia River Valley. The river people, who they referred to themselves as "The River People". They were people who would be called, "Marine fishermen and gatherers. An the Great Basin, was haras in winters, being terrible cold. Little rain, and little foods.
This frame has mostly Paleo or Archaic artifacts, many are very nicely flaked obsidian. Very good buy for $ 1,795.00 and will only increase in value as the Indians are gone. Question please, call or email me. Thanks Fred & Janet
