Item Description: Stone Grinder, Deep Indentation, Well Used Tool which was part of JERRY CHUBBUCK’S Collection. 100% Authentic with a nice weathered look.

Some History: The deeper the indentation, the more well used the tool and likely, the older the tool. Often these grinders were left on the range upside-down with the grinding stone underneath; which prevented water accumulation and cracking of the grinding stone. Upon return to known range areas, the Indians would locate and reuse the tool, rather than packing such a heavy stone for travel.

There were approximately 10 to 15 to 25 Stone Grinders lined up in rows and they were sold as individuals. These were used to grind grain, soften meat and flesh.by Native American Indians.

Dimensions: They range in size from approximately 10.0” to 24” inches and all have good wear and well used.

Weight: The Celts weigh approximately between 10.0 to 20.0 pounds.
