Out of a Callaway County, Missouri, collection, some provenance written on one face, but not really legible any longer--made of Burlington Chert, half-of-a-sixteenth under 4" by 1&1/4". Yes, the tip has an old impact ding that was salvaged--that's as much a part of the history (of the piece) as is the writing on one side. There is minor wear at the end of each barb, photos will show the exact condition--and the lifetime guaranteed authentic patina. Basal grinding is 'acceptable', but I wouldn't describe it as 'heavy' except on the slightly more rounded basal edge--pretty well ground there, so there may have been some Early Archaic-made rework on the other basal edge, some 'action' cut into the grinding--your hands will tell you all that when you hold the Dove--they should.. Bevel sharpening is some excellent pressure chipping--Early Archaic high end knapping/ sharpening.. Shipping is included with the price, checks or M.O.s are welcomed, however I do not use paypal--Roy A.
