A decent Sonora Flint Benton--or Bottle Neck, although the stem isn't quite as narrow as some "Bottle Neck" forms. Good looking flint, excellent gloss and patina. The piece comes from the very extensive Bennie Powell collection of Columbia, Kentucky, found many decades back along the Cumberland River--Bennie, according to the family, hunted Adair and Russell Counties, Kentucky. This Benton measures 3" by 1&3/16"--max thickness goes just over 3/8", so the thickness/ width numbers would indicate an even longer blade when it was Mid Archaic (6500BP) knapped. AS usual, with Mid Archaic stemmed points & knives, there is no basal dulling--that wasn't their trait. Again, patina is excellent, every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $5.00 with checks, cash, or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry, I don't use paypal--Roy A.
