Up for sale is a nice Pentagonal Point. It is 1 1/16 inches wide and 1 7/8 inches long, and made of a nice made of colored flint material. It and was found in Hardin County, Ohio. I purchased this nice artifact from Gaary Mumaw (Versailles Ohio), a respected collector and artifact dealer. In his 2007 book, “Ohio Flint Types” Dr. Robert N. Converse states, “The Pentagonal is a major Ohio type. Pentagonal points were found in association with Ashtabula points and early in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and dated to approximately 1000 B.C.” Pentagonal points are from the Late Archaic Archaeological Period making them approximately 3,000 years old.
